Background Agent Security Engine
PacketDNA BASE enforces security policies on smart mobile devices dynamically, in real time, as specified by the IT department using the PacketDNA Management Console. PacketDNA’s patent-pending low-level security technology enables BASE to operate entirely in the background on the device so user productivity is not affected, and users do not have to change their behavior in any way.
No end-user interface whatsoever
- No productivity loss
- No learning curve
- No user training or support
- Users cannot change or disable security settings
Mobile encryption technology offering a higher level of mobile data protection
- PacketDNA’s patent-pending Secure Receptor™ is the first technology that automatically encrypts sensitive files before any other process (i.e. spyware, Trojan, etc.) can make a copy of them
- Policy settings can specify that user data copied to external devices must always be encrypted. This insures any Trojans, etc. that attempt to copy data will not be able to copy clear text
Capable of encrypting all major forms of user data, including:
- Documents (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, etc.)
- Contacts
- Tasks
- Calendar/schedule
- Data Base information
- Custom application data (CRM, SFA, etc.)
Provides real-time security alerts and status information about each protected device
- Small footprint, high performance
- Minimal impact on the performance of other applications - even when working with encrypted files
- Performance is maintained even when protecting a large number of encrypted records (tasks, contacts, etc.)
- 500 KB installation file
- Minimal bandwidth usage for over-the-air installations, policy updates and alerts
Uses industry-standard FIPS-compliant AES encryption algorithm (128-, 192- or 256-bit)
- Single, two factor secure password
- One password unlocks device, and allows access to all protected user data
- Overrides OS password with fully protected password
Application protection
- BASE has no icons, menus, etc., and the application components are hidden when browsing the file system
- A driver-level component that is installed with BASE monitors the status of BASE, and shuts down the device if it is tampered with
Highly portable to a variety of mobile platforms
- Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 (released)
