Manager Software Engineering


Job Description:
  • Work with PacketDNA’s CTO to design, document, and manage development of software for PacketDNA information security products.
  • Develop software requirements and specifications, participate in full software development life cycle including, requirement analysis, design, code, integration, verification, bug tracking, maintenance, and ensuring software quality.
  • Define standards and procedures for project documentation, design reviews, testing, and version control.
  • Plan test cases and testing environment for validation .
  • Assist and supervise software programmers, contribute to a team environment while striving for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Report on software development status.

Required Skills:

Must have experience with C++, Java /J2EE, Java standard APIs, Object oriented design, MYSQL, JDBC, JSP, Struts, Eclipse, Tomcat, XML, HTML, Servlet, CSS, JavaScript, and applets.


Required Experience and Strengths:
  • Ideal candidate will have lead experience in the application of software design principles for the delivery of complex products.
  • Active participation in feature requirement reviews, development design, and code reviews.
  • Experience as a Product Line Manager.
  • Must have an appreciation of Visual C++ / C, TCL, and windows programming as well as strong theoretical background. Windows/ Linux / Unix experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of real-time software design, multithreading, and event driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of device driver development.
  • Must have architectural knowledge of breaking the complex business case into software modules and identifying the inter process messaging/communications between the modules.
  • Knowledge of the WinCE OS and application development using windows (Win32, SDK, MFC and .NET) programming is required.
  • Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, dynamic environment, under aggressive deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-directed, results driven, and have excellent analytical and prioritizing skills .
  • The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment, and with all levels within the organization and external contacts.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in computer software - IT security preferred.
  • At least a Bachelor degree in computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
