PacketDNA’s Secure Receptor™ product consists of three components:

Central Console

User data protection policies

  • Force user data to be automatically encrypted when it is saved, downloaded, or data types that are considered sensitive according to corporate security policies (see below)
  • Force deletion of protected files
  • Schedule or force a backup to any location (SD or CF memory card, backup server, etc.)

Password and authentication policies

  • Require minimum password length
  • Specify number of consecutive incorrect password entry attempts before device locks itself, deletes user data, etc.
  • Change or reset user password

Device locking and resetting policies

  • Lock the device immediately
  • Force device hard reset or soft reset
  • Prevent hard resets

Connectivity policies

  • Permit or restrict access to removable media (memory cards, USB keys, CD, etc.)
  • Permit or restrict PC-synching
  • Block or open ports

Executable control policies

  • Prevent the installation of any software not on a list of permitted applications
  • Prevent the execution of any executable not on a list of permitted applications
  • Prevent the execution of any executable that is on a list of prohibited applications
  • Disable any auto-run features of device OS

Additional Central Console Features

Provides real-time security alerts and status information about each protected device

  • Successive incorrect password entry attempts
  • Locked/unlocked status of device

Provides detailed real-time device status information on demand

  • Detailed activity log, showing applications launched, files opened, files deleted, files modified, etc.
  • Inventory of executables stored on the device
  • Processes running on device
  • Registered user details

Secure bandwidth-efficient communication

  • Policy updates and PacketDNA BASE software updates are sent to devices in encrypted form
  • Minimal bandwidth is used for OTA (over-the-air) updates
